Banks and Taylor, founded in 1981 was reconstructed in 1994 under the name of B&T Brewery and has continued producing the same extensive range of beers including monthly special brews together with contract brewing for wholesalers and individual public houses. 60 outlets are supplied direct and two pubs are owned.

Bottle conditioned beer: Black Dragon Mild, Edwin Taylor's Extra Stout (ABV 4.5 %), Dragonslayer (ABV 4.5%), Shefford Old Strong, Old Bat (ABV 6%), Black Old Bat (6.5%).

Two Brewers Bitter (OG 1036, ABV 3.6%)

Hoppy, amber-brown session beer.

Shefford Bitter

Shefford Bitter OG 1038, ABV 3.8%)

A pleasant, predominantly hoppy session bitter with a biter finsish.

Shefford Mild

Shefford Dark Mild OG1038, ABV 3.8%)

A dark beer with a well balanced taste. Sweetish roast malt aftertaste.

Black Dragon Mild (OG 1043, ABV 4.3%)

Dark, rich in flavour, with a strong roast barley finish.

Dragonslayer

Dragonslayer (OG 1045, ABV 4.5%)

A straw-coloured beer, dry, malty and lightly hopped.

Edwin Taylor's Extra Stout

Edwin Taylor's Extra Stout (OG1045, ABV 4.5%)

A pleasant bitter beer with a strong roast malt flavour. Champion Beer of East Anglia 2001.

Shefford Pale Ale

Shefford Pale Ale (OG1045, ABV 4.5%)

A well-balanced beer with a hop, fruit and malt flavours. Dry bitter aftertaste.

Fruit Bat (OG 1045, ABV 4.5%)

Raspberry flavoured, hoppy fruit beer.

Shefford Old Strong

Shefford Old Strong (SOS) (OG1050, ABV 5%)

A rich mixture of fruit and malt is present in the taste and aftertaste of this beer. Predominately hoppy aroma.

Shefford Old Dark

Shefford Old Dark (SOD) (OG 1050, ABV 5%)

SOS with caramel added for colour. Often sold under house names.

Black Bat

Black Bat (OG1060, ABV 6%)

A powerful, sweet, fruity and malty beer for winter. Fruity, nutty aroma: strong roast malt aftertaste.

2XS

2XS (OG 1060, ABV 6%)

A reddish beer with a strong, fruity, hoppy aroma. The taste is full-flavoured and the finish strong and sweetish.

Old Bat

Old Bat (OG 1070, ABV 7%)

A powerful-tasting, sweet winter beer, with bitterness coming through in the aftertaste. Fruit is present in both aroma and taste.
