Potton Brewery Company10 Shannon Place, Potton, Sandy, Beds, SG19 2PZ Set up by Clive Towner and Bob Hearson in 1998, both former managers at Greene King’s now closed Biggleswade Brewery, they resurrected brewing in Potton for the first time since 1922. They expanded from 20 barrels a week to 50 in 2004. Some 150 outlets are supplied direct. Seasonal beers: Bunny Hops (ABV 4.1%, March-April), No-Ale (ABV 4.8%, Nov-Dec). Bottle-conditioned beers: Butlers Ale (ABV 4.3%); for the National Trust, Wimpole Hall, Shambles Bitter. ![]() Shannon IPA (OG 1035, ABV 3.6%)A well-balanced session bitter with good bitterness and fruity late-hop character. SIBA Eastern Region class winner 2003. |
