The Swan pub at Old Weston has been selected as Pub of the Year by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA)'s Huntingdonshire branch.
There was a presentation of a framed certificate to licensees Jim and Hazel Taylor, and Tony Vaughan on Friday 26 November.
The Swan is the very epitome of what a good village community pub should be.
An excellent range of very well kept real ales, and good value home cooked traditional pub food are available,
but the pub is far more than just a place to go and drink and eat.
Many of Old Weston's social activities are centred on the Swan - many village groups meet here,
the annual village pantomime uses the pub as a base, and the games room with pool, darts and hooded skittles is well used.

The focus of this 16th-century pub is the main bar, with its oak beams and large inglenook fireplace, with a small restaurant to one side, and a games room on the other.
The choice of real cask ales at the Swan includes Adnams Bitter and Broadside, and Greene King Abbot, with regular guest beers. The Swan has been an entry in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide for the last 14 years.
Real ale is a product that needs patience in preparation to be in the best form. The Swan never fails to impress with the standard of its beers, and has come to be regarded by CAMRA as one of the most highly regarded pubs in the area.
This is a testament to Jim Taylor's cellar skills and his dedication.
